Our Midwife
Alisa Perozo-Dickerson (Alyssa) CNM, CPM, DNP, MSN, RN, PMH-C
Alisa (Alyssa) Dickerson is a dedicated Certified Nurse-Midwife based in Huntington, Indiana, bringing compassionate care to her community since the onset of the pandemic in Spring 2020. With the growing need for innovative healthcare solutions, Alyssa stepped up to provide alternative access to essential services.
In 2023, she earned her Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) from Missouri State University, following her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Frontier Nursing University in 2019. A Registered Nurse since 2013, Alyssa has honed her skills in both Cardiac and Labor and Birth nursing, ensuring comprehensive care for her patients.
Recently, she collaborated with a talented team of OBGYNs and CNMs, focusing on fertility and midwifery care. Alyssa has provided prenatal support and attended births in both a CABC-certified out-of-hospital birthing center and a hospital setting. Over the past four years, she has been a pillar of support in her community, offering services in out-of-hospital births, women's health, and mental health, as well as new family coaching, newborn care, and childbirth education.
Alyssa is passionate about learning languages, teaching, and fostering connections through therapeutic communication, all while cherishing time with her family. Her practice emphasizes evidence-based approaches to childbirth, tailored to the unique needs of local families during their transformative journeys.
Her strengths lie in her empathy, ability to connect with others, and her optimistic perspective. Alyssa specializes in Linguistics, Perinatal Mental Health, and offers services in Spanish, English, and French, alongside her expertise in new family coaching and leadership.

What is Concierge Healthcare
Concierge Medicine
Concierge Medicine is an alternative primary care model built on a better relationship between the provider and patient without the hassles of the traditional primary care experience. Patients pay for the service with cash, credit card, or HSA card rather than using their health insurance, which allows enhanced access, convenience, and additional services.
Concierge medicine allows the provider to see far fewer patients than traditional primary care providers and spend more time with each patient.
What is a Certified Nurse-Midwife
- Midwifery as practiced by certified nurse-midwives (CNMs) encompasses the independent provision of care during pregnancy, childbirth, and the
postpartum period; sexual and reproductive health; gynecologic health; and family planning
services, including preconception care. - Midwives also provide primary care for individuals from
adolescence throughout the lifespan as well as care for the healthy newborn during the first 28
days of life. - Midwives provide initial and ongoing comprehensive
assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. They conduct physical examinations; independently prescribe medications including but not limited to controlled substances, treatment of substance use disorder, and expedited partner therapy; admit, manage, and discharge patients; order and
interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests; and order medical devices, durable medical equipment, and home health services. - Midwifery care includes health promotion, disease prevention, risk assessment and management, and individualized wellness education and counseling.
- These services are provided in partnership with individuals and families in diverse settings such as ambulatory care clinics, private offices, telehealth and other methods of remote care delivery, community and public health systems, homes, hospitals, and birth centers.
