Lactation and Breastfeeding Support
Lactation Visit
60-90 minute consultation which may include any combination of the following depending on your method of feeding/feeding plans:
- observation of a feeding at breast/chest and/or bottle, positioning + latch assessment
- infant weight check and plotting baby on a clinical growth chart, milk transfer and/or bottle feeding instruction
- oral exam and structural assessment of baby, breast/nipple exam and treatment if indicated,
- counseling on normal newborn behavior, flange fitting/pumping instruction/plan, proper formula prep and guidance on appropriate amounts per age/stage, if indicated, as well as a specialized care plan to meet your lactation/infant feeding needs.
- A visit summary note will be sent to your baby’s provider within 24 hours of your consultation.
